Huanchaco is located on the north coast of Peru, approximately 11 kilometers from the city of Trujillo, and 571 kilometers from the capitol city, Lima. The city covers an area approximately 333.9 kilometeres square, and lies at an average of 23 meters above sea level, with a population of 38,134 inhabitants. The average temperature throuhgout the year varies between 17 degrees Celcius at the lowest and 34 degrees Celcius at the highest; it is a hot, dry, tropical climate year-round.
